Why Madeira

A few highlights from this wonderful island

In case you need more convincing of why you should visit The Hawaii Of Europe...

We chose the tiny island of Madeira, above anywhere else, because of the warm, welcoming people, and because of the endless incredible adventures you can go on...

As your hosts, through our extensive research, we will be there to guide you on what's new, what's on, and where's best to head.

Check out the 'what's on' board in the lounge, or just ask, if you're looking for:

  • The right levada hike or run

  • The best restaurant

  • Festivals around the island

  • The inside track on visiting rum distilleries (obviously!)

  • Climbing, canyoning, fishing, surfing or jeep tours

And, obviously, the hostel & guesthouse terrace will be the perfect place to meet others to enjoy the island with.

*Check out the 'what's on' board in the guesthouse for our morning running, hiking and swimming groups - the best start to any day!

Why Seixal?

We've chosen to move from the bustling London life to live full time in this tiny village on the north coast of Madeira. We travelled around the globe, seeing amazing places from Langkawi to Marie Galante, from Kotor to Negril, before deciding this was our dream new home.

Set in the heart of Madeira's wild, spectacular north coast, yet only a 45 minute drive from Funchal. One trip to experience the natural pools, a sunrise on Seixal beach, the wonderfully friendly welcoming people, world class trails leading up into the mountains ... and you will understand why.

We look forward to welcoming you and sharing the Madeira.life
